The story of

Robin Pérez

Robin was born in Havana, Cuba; inheriting the artistic skills from his father and the social skills from his mother, he started out soon drawing everywhere he could and making friends; though he considers himself a bit of an introvert. Since elementary school on, he was often picked to illustrate subjects in classes, decorate the schools’ walls, and other artistic activities. During his youth he started making comics with the help of friends who collaborated in the story-building and scripts; unfortunately, none of the comics were published in Cuba, and most were lost.

In 1994, after studying Japanese language for three years, Robin achieved his dream of traveling to Japan; over there he visited many cities and landmarks he only knew of thru books, and made many friends, some of which are still in touch with him today.

After Japan, Robin emigrated to the U.S. and settled in Miami, Florida, where he worked at a supermarket, went to Miami-Dade College and studied graphic design; in that college he met his future wife, Ana Lilia. In 2001, they married in Texas, and have lived together in Houston since 2004.

Robin has a knack for learning foreign languages, loves traveling all over the world, and likes to volunteer for different causes.
